Buchpräsentation «The Gospel of Family Planning» und «Reproductive Racism»

Wie haben globale Bevölkerungspolitiken das Leben marginalisierter Menschen geprägt, und was wirkt davon bis heute nach? Dieser Frage geht die Diskussion an diesem Abend auf Basis der präsentierten Bücher «The Gospel of Family Planning: An Intimate Global History» (Bourbonnais 2025, The University of Chicago Press) und «Reproductive Racism: Migration, Birth Control and the Specter of Population» (Schultz 2023, Anthem Press) sowie der Arbeit «From Troubled Pasts to Occluded Futures: A Clinic-Based Ethnography of Female Sterilisation in Northwest India» (Sahay 2026, Graduate Institute Geneva) nach. Im Zentrum stehen dabei Gruppen im Globalen Süden und Norden, deren reproduktive Entscheidungen durch politische Eingriffe beeinflusst wurden. Anschliessend wird ein Apéro offeriert.
