"I travelled across the sea with Sun Cousto"

In October 2023, Sun Cousto will set sail for an unforgettable adventure in the land of the rising sun. Driven by full Shinkansen power, the two twee lo-fi punks will discover Japan for three intense weeks. On a completely self-organized tour, they will roam the streets of megacities, sell Ranma-inspired merch, scream their lungs out and even experience a few horror stories. All of this was captured by filmmaker Elias Gamma in a 30-minute documentary. We will show this exclusively at Café Cairo!

Afterwards, Sun Cousto will present her second album, "Imaginary Girls", which will be released in 2024. Ten catchy tracks that sum up the band's journey and evolution over the last few years. A mix of sharp punk, authentic pop and free, confident experimentation. Sun Cousto always claim their lo-fi/twee influences and transcend styles and codes to express themselves head-on and reveal themselves in small semi-autofictional stories. The album consists of studio/live recordings as well as home recordings made by the band themselves, allowing them to explore new forms of creativity. Sometimes analogue, sometimes digital, sometimes melancholic, sometimes joyful, "Imaginary Girls" is an honest, energetic album that both questions and delights.
