The Bern University Orchestra invites you to a concert!
With our conductor - Piero Lombardi Iglesias - we look forward to experiencing Alexander Zemlinsky's second symphony from 1897 with you at the beginning of the concert: an illegally unknown work that has an incredible number of faces, but still manages to bring them together harmoniously under one roof.
After the break, the suite for the musical Lady in the Dark, which premiered in 1949 and whose music was composed by Kurt Weill, follows. Let Robert Bennett's arrangement transport you mentally to a bygone era on Broadway.
Finally, after crossing the Atlantic, we would like to guide you further south: with Arturo Marquez's Danzón No., which premiered in 1994. 2 features Central American sounds and rhythms, which will surely get some dancing feet awake.
