Der Name Jazzy James ist nicht nur ein Wortspiel, sondern auch eine Hommage an die Wurzeln des Jazz. Während Jesse James, die legendäre Figur des Wilden Westens, für seine Wildheit und Gesetzlosigkeit bekannt war, steht Jazzy James im Gegensatz dazu für die Harmonie und Kreativität des Jazz, die die Seele berührt und die Gemüter erhellt. Das 'Jam' im Bandnamen steht aber auch für spontanes Zusammenspiel und Improvisation, was diese Musik so einzigartig macht.
