Public tours of the Adolf Dietrich House in Berlingen.
Adolf Dietrich bequeathed his artistic legacy and the house in which he spent his entire life to the Thurgau Art Society (ThKG). Because the house passed directly into the hands of the art society, the artist's painting room has remained untouched since his death - even the calendar still shows June 4, 1957 (Dietrich's death day).
Nothing has changed, the painter could return home, sit down at the table and continue painting his unfinished work. The painting room and a documentation room are open to visitors, offering an insight into Dietrich's work. From the window of the painting room you can admire the baroque garden on the opposite side of the street.
It was rebuilt based on photographs and paintings; the garden served Dietrich for many motifs and as inspiration. If you sit on the other side of the house, in the artist's former garden by the lake, you can also recognize several motifs from his paintings.
The tours provide a deeper insight and each sheds its own light on the works, life and man Adolf Dietrich.
