The Geneva Chamber Orchestra highlights the work of Felix Mendelssohn as well as his sister, Fanny.
The Bâtiment des Forces Motrices de Genève will host a unique concert on Tuesday, May 14, with tunes by Felix Mendelssohn and his sister Fanny, by the Geneva Chamber Orchestra.
Although her fame was less than that of her brother, Fanny Mendelssohn was a talented composer. Her vocation was often thwarted by her family, who believed that it was a dishonorable career for a woman.
United by their passion for music and theater, Felix and Fanny produced a monumental work, which still remains recognized today.
The Geneva Chamber Orchestra, under the direction of Holly Hyun Choe, will perform several works by Fanny and Felix Mendelssohn, as well as other classics of classical music.
