Fa­bio Bi­on­di — Bach and Sons

The Zurich Chamber Orchestra feels a strong connection to the violinist and conductor Fabio Biondi, who is driven by unbridled musical curiosity and who can be seen in Zurich this season with two different concert projects. For the Neumünster church in the Zurich district of Riesbach, the Italian musician has put together a program with works by Johann Sebastian Bach and his sons Carl Philipp Emanuel and Wilhelm Friedemann, whose works are rarely heard in concert. This includes the Cello Concerto in A minor by Carl Philipp Emanuel, played by the orchestra's solo cellist Nicola Mosca, which is able to surprise with its virtuoso and at the same time highly emotional composition. Brother Wilhelm Friedemann also created works of sparkling originality. In combination with the reconstructed Violin Concerto in G minor by his great father Johann Sebastian, this concert evening becomes a real family project.
