Im Mai 2025 kürte sich der Chinese Zhao Xintong gegen Mark Williams zum ersten asiatische Snooker-Weltmeister. Obendrein stellte er einen Rekord auf: Da er als Amateur antrat, musste er alle vier Qualifikationsrunden bestreiten. Somit gewann er auf dem Weg zum Titel neun Spiele.
