The "Tuscany" of Austria, as southern Styria is nicknamed, offers 650 kilometers of hiking trails and 800 kilometers of cycle paths. In the kingdom of the Sauvignon Blanc grape variety, Schmidt Max found small houses in the vineyards where he could stay overnight. He wasn't really that keen on the grape juice - until three winemakers convinced him: a young wild one, a pillar saint and a well-known Bavarian.
